Collaborative Centers Center for Business and Information Technologies (CBIT) : In cooperation with private sector, academic, and government partners, the center conducts basic and applied research aimed at establishing scientific foundations and frameworks for business & information technologies.
Center for Louisiana Inland Water Studies (CLIWS) : The mission of the center is to conduct high-quality basic and applied research in the areas of Coastal Wetland Restoration and Protection, Hydrologic Science, and Hydraulic Engineering. Louisiana University Marine Consortium (LUMCON) : This coalition of Louisiana universities provides research and education in marine science for all Louisiana schools, offers coastal laboratory facilities to universities, and conducts in-house research and educational programs in the marine science.
National Marine Fisheries Services (NMFS) : This Estuarine Habitats and Coastal Fisheries Research Center helps manage and restore fisheries and coastal habitat in the Northern Gulf of Mexico.
Regional Application Center (RAC) : Collaborating with NASA, RAC collects and processes satellite data using geographic information systems (GIS) and related tools
USGS National Wetlands Research Center (NWRC) : With 150 employee, this center maintains and fosters programs in ecology, wildlife, and wetlands research. It addresses national and regional issues such as wetlands loss and restoration, deterioration of wildlife habitats, and accumulation of toxic contaminants.
Wetland Biogeochemistry Institute (WBI) : A research unit in the School of the Coast and Environment, Louisiana State University, its focus is biogeochemical processes in wetlands and sediment-water systems. The main strength of WBI's research program is its emphasis on wetland biogeochemical processes combined with a multi disciplinary approach to studying wetlands.
