CEET helps sponsor the Graduate Student Symposium that is organized by a biology graduate student committee at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The committee invites a guest speaker to present the keynote address at the symposium. Following the keynote are graduate student oral and poster presentations. Throughout the day, raffle tickets are sold for various prize packs including a CEET shirt, mug, and photograph bundle. After the presentations, winners are chosen for the various raffle prizes and a best presentation award ($250 from CEET) is given to the student with the best oral presentation. In addition to the symposium presentations, a cookoff is held at Girard Park every year to enhance student-faculty communication and collaboration. Previous Symposium speakers and winners:
